Description
About the Book:
Learning to spell correctly and knowing which words to use in writing is a skill that
will stay with your child for life. This skill only comes through repeated practice and revision. This pad will help your child segment words into phonemes (units of
sound) and syllables, learn about prefixes, suffixes and digraphs, and consider how to use the right words and spellings within sentences. It is important that your child knows that the same sound can often be written in several different ways and that many letter combinations can be pronounced in different ways. As your child works through the pad, try to make these differences an interesting discussion point and look out for examples in day-to-day life. Answers can be found on pages 31 and 32. Remember to reward your child’s effort with stickers and lots of positive feedback.
Here’s a unique and exciting range of material developed to complement the learning that takes place in primary schools. Clear information helps you support your child through the activities, with the emphasis always on fun and
creative learning. So help build your child’s confidence and guide his or her
development during those all-important first years at school.
